| Geocaching notes: Neat suspension bridge. Nice hike on a well shaded path. Can't wait to come back and do the hiking club trail. |
| Hiking notes: Due to the Quarry Trail being closed, the Hiking Club Trail is now two separate loops. Instead of doing the trail as closely as originally designed, the ranger has us do it completely backwards. I think she thinks most people want to cheat, so she was giving advice on how to complete it without hiking the full 6.2 miles. But if you want do to the full hike, her route was the worst possible way to do it. The original design has you doing the most difficult part first, and the flat portion last. Her route had us do the flat part first, and most difficult section at the very end, when we were tired. |
