| Geocaching notes: Somebody had claimed that they found the cache on 4/17, so we thought it must be accessible. Turns out that the park was closed due to flooding. We ended up getting stuck in the mud, and if it hadn't been for two nice park rangers who helped us push the car, we would have been stuck there all day. |

| Hiking notes: Nice fall day. Lots of mosquitoes in some areas and the praire was covered in grasshoppers. We had a hard time finding the start of the trail, as the picnic structure mentioned in the book wasn't on the park map. |
